Some words about us
Seahorse Philatelic Publishers was established by A. Krauz, in the summer of 2004 as a company which aims to provide the collector with high quality, fully illustrated albums in accord with today's high standards of collecting.
Right from the beginning Seahorse was set up to be a business which was created by a collector and which aims to the needs of other fellow collectors. After some 20 years as a collector of British Empire stamps the need for an album to accommodate my own collection arose. The album I envisioned had to be fully illustrated and to contain all major watermark and perforation varieties. I was hoping, at those early stages to produce it using the best available paper and the most modern printing techniques.
Shortly after The British Empire Stamp Album, King George VI Era was published it had received some marvelous book reviews (which can be read at the bottom of our Testimonials section) and was put to market. The question was then: "what's next?". It was decided that the best way to continue was to stick to the philatelic areas which were most familiar and known by me i.e. the British Empire. During the past 4 years the British Hong Kong album, The Falkland Islands album and some 15 sets of pages for Omnibus sets were published (and more to come). Although at first we thought to expand our British Empire album to other reigns we had not started doing so as of late and we hope to publish our current project as soon as the end of 2008.
We consider our size, as a small album making company to have many advantages. First and foremost we produce only albums of which we have prior philatelic knowledge. Secondly, as a family business we keep our expanses low, so we can offer high quality albums for attractive prices. Last but not least, our customer service is personal and we always encourage our clients, as well as any other collector who writes us to express their thoughts, and ask questions. We always answer all inquiries within less than 24 hours.
One last word, and it's about ebay. We have been selling through ebay for quite some time now and both our feedback and our "stars" records are impeccable. Lately ebay has conducted major changes to their fees structure which makes the selling of low priced items (and some of our Omnibus sets of pages fit that category) to be too costly. Soon we will not offer all the Omnibus range on ebay anymore. Still, they will be always available. here on our site.
